Jeffery Martin, PhD
Dr. Martin is a professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UCSF and director of the UCSF Training in Clinical Research (TICR) Program, which provides graduate-level training in clinical, epidemiologic, and translational research to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty members at UCSF. In Africa, Dr. Martin has been the principal investigator for a number of grants focused on the early detection, prevention, and therapy of Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS), an HIV/AIDS-related malignancy. In addition, he is funded to implement training for KS for African physicians. He is the director of the Data Coordinating Center for the 750 subject Mbarara-based Uganda AIDS Rural Treatment Outcomes (UARTO) Cohort, and the Principal Investigator for the UCSF contribution to the East Africa International Epidemiologic Databases to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA) consortium.
