Dr. Willybroad Massawe, Dr. Nashivai Elias Kivuyo, Dr. Angela Karia and Julius Pius Alloyce attended the International Collaboration for Research Methods Development in Oncology (CReDO) workshop that took place in March 2025 in Mumbai, India. During this six-day workshop, researchers focused on clinical research protocol development training, various aspects of clinical trial design, and the development of a research idea into a structured protocol. The format of the workshop is a combination of pre-workshop webinars, protocol development group sessions, didactic talks, and small-group breakaway sessions.

Here are a few things things the scholars have to say about CReDO:

“CREDO Workshop was quite interesting, engaging and educative, facilitators and participants dived deeply invaluable insights of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) designs and navigations. The theme, ‘Sharing Research Ideas,’ was truly reflected and emphasized. I had rich experience in study design and networking with RCT gurus from all over the world ." -Dr. Willybroad Massawe

"Attending the NCG CreDo workshop was a remarkable journey that deepened my understanding of designing clinics research. The collaborative spirit among fellow researchers inspired me to refine my research ideas into structured protocols. I am truly grateful to the UCSF Global Cancer Program for making this transformative experience possible." -Dr. Nashivai Elias Kivuyo

“I had an incredible experience during the Credo workshop, it was an enriching and transformative workshop that improved my understanding on clinical research design, refining research protocols that have meaningful intervention and clinical impact. The dedicated faculty went above and beyond to mentor us, investing as much effort into my protocol writing as I did. I encourage other young researchers to attend this workshop to gain invaluable insight on clinical research writing.” -Dr. Angela Karia

“I had an enriching experience at the CREDO Workshop, engaging with senior faculty and participants while gaining valuable insights into oncology research, particularly the design and implementation of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The theme, ‘Sharing Research Ideas,’ was truly reflected in the collaborative discussions on methodology, trial execution, and addressing research challenges. This experience has further strengthened my commitment to advancing impactful research in oncology.” -Julius Pius Alloyce
