Lindsay Breithaupt Appointed Associate Director of Operations for the Global Cancer Program

Lindsay Breithaupt, MPH, has been named the Associate Director of Operations for the UCSF Global Cancer Program (GCP). The program is a one of the key initiatives for the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC).

 

In this role, Ms. Breithaupt will be responsible for high-level implementation of the GCP, one of the HDFCCC’s key initiatives. Ms. Breithaupt will spearhead the development of the GCP’s next five-year strategic plan (2022-2027) to advance the GCP’s mission of reducing the global burden of cancer through innovative research, education, and collaboration. She will develop and implement processes for the monitoring and analysis of program metrics to evaluate progress and inform strategic decisions.  

 

In 2019, Ms. Breithaupt joined UCSF as the Program Manager for the UCSF Global Cancer Program. In this role, she supported the GCP’s expanding portfolio of research, education, and capacity-building projects across the GCP’s regional hubs of Tanzania, Mexico, and Vietnam. Ms. Breithaupt standardized financial, contractual, and administrative processes. She established herself as a key liaison between faculty and trainees from UCSF and our international partner sites. Ms. Breithaupt contributed to the expansion of the GCP’s funding through dedicated support of grant submissions and collaboration with University Development and Alumni Relations to secure philanthropic donations.  

 

Ms. Breithaupt brings 10 years of experience in international public health program management, and she has supported programs in 13 countries in the technical fields of cancer, reproductive health, and maternal and child health. Ms. Breithaupt holds an MPH in Maternal and Child Health from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina.
