Global Cancer RAP Awards Advance Research in Patient Navigation and Pediatric Oncology

The Global Cancer Program is pleased to highlight two global cancer awards from the Fall 2025 RAP cycle:

Drs. Kimberly Badal and Anya Platt
  • Kimberly Badal, PhD, received funding to adapt a cancer patient navigation training model developed in the Caribbean for implementation in Vietnam, with the goal of improving timely diagnosis and care in resource-limited settings.

  • Anya Platt, MD, was awarded a Global Cancer Pilot Award to study outcomes in children with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in Egypt, comparing results by donor type to inform future treatment strategies.

These awards reflect continued investment in implementation science and pediatric oncology research with global impact. These projects are co-funded by the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC) and the Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS).
